The severe threat seems to have diminished some today. Most of the models now place the stronger storms to the west of the Mississippi River. Highs will approach 90° this afternoon. The Storm Prediction Center has continued to outline the area in a “marginal” risk of severe weather, thus the severe weather threat is not zero.
A cold front will move through the region late tonight and into Sunday morning. This may provide the best opportunity for showers and thunderstorms as lows drop into the upper 60s.
A Nice Sunday Ahead
The cold front will provide some relief from the heat on Sunday as highs top out in the low to mid 80s under partly cloudy skies. Overall, a very nice Sunday is shaping up across the region. Overnight lows will drop back into the low 50s.
Nice Start to the Work Week
Weak high pressure will settle into place on Monday, providing nice conditions once again. Highs will warm into the low 80s under mostly sunny skies.
That should wrap up this forecast. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
