The region saw quite a few damaging storms yesterday. Fortunately, the most damaging storms seemed to miss the Marshall County area. A calmer day is expected today as highs warm into the upper 80s under partly cloudy skies. Overnight lows will drop back into the low 70s.
Severe Storms Saturday Evening?
Another chance of severe weather exists on Saturday. Dew point temperatures in the mid 70s will make it feel muggy outside. That, combined with highs near 90°, will lead to a highly unstable atmosphere. As of now the Storm Prediction Center has nudged the “slight” risk to the west some, placing us in a “marginal” risk for severe weather.
The above map will likely continue to change over the next 24 to 48 hours. The storms are expected more in the evening and overnight hours. Damaging wind and large hail will be the main concerns.
A cold front will move through the region Saturday night. This will provide a little relief from the heat on Sunday as highs warm into the low to mid 80s under partly cloudy skies.
That should wrap up this forecast. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
