Hot Today; Alberto Impacts Start Tomorrow

Another hot day is expected today as highs warm into the upper 80s to near 90° by this afternoon.

Isolated storms may form this afternoon. Any storms that form will likely contain plentiful lightning, heavy rain, and perhaps some gusty winds. The HRRR model does a good job displaying the isolated nature of the storms, if they do from.

Any storms that do form should wane after sunset. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 60s.

Memorial Day

More storms may be possible during the afternoon on Memorial Day. A northwest moving band of storms may form in the afternoon thanks to Tropical Storm Alberto. These storms may contain plentiful lightning, heavy rain, and gusty winds. Area boaters should monitor the weather conditions. Highs will once again top out in the upper 80s.

Monday night lows will drop off into the upper 60s under mostly cloudy skies.

Alberto Comes Tuesday

The most sensible impacts from Alberto will likely come on Tuesday. Heavy rain and gusty winds may move into the region on Tuesday. This will keep temperatures in the mid 80s as opposed to the upper 80s.

According to the Weather Prediction Center, there is a “slight” risk (Level 2 out of 4) of excessive rainfall on Tuesday. This rainfall will likely continue into Wednesday, providing us with 1-4″ of rain. If you come to a flooded roadway, turn around and find an alternate route.

That should wrap up this forecast. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great Sunday!
