Temperatures that hovered around the freezing mark all night have dropped into the upper 20s. This means you should watch for black ice during the commute this morning. It looks like most of the icing occurred to the north and west of us, but a few slick spots may still be possible.
A cold day is on tap across the region. Northwest winds around 10 to 20 mph will keep things nice and chilly under mostly cloudy skies. Afternoon highs will only top out in the mid 30s. We may see some sun this afternoon, but it won’t help much.
Mostly clear skies are expected overnight as lows drop into the low to mid 20s. I think the models are a bit too warm as they think it only drops to around 24°. I think we’ll probably drop a bit lower than that.
A nicer day is on tap for Thursday as high pressure settles into the region. Temperatures should warm into the mid 40s under mostly sunny skies. Winds will gradually shift out of the south.
Light southerly flow will continue Thursday night. This will result in partly cloudy skies and overnight lows in the low to mid 30s.
A very nice day is forecast on Friday. A warm front will lift through the region leading to highs in the upper 50s under mostly sunny skies and southerly winds. That’s what I’m talking about!
That should wrap up this forecast. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
