The back edge of the rain should move to the east of the region by noon today. A few snowflakes may mix in later this morning.
Temperatures should remain in the upper 30s the remainder of the day until slowly dropping to around 30° overnight.
Christmas Eve Snow Showers
Conditions will remain cold on Christmas Eve. Afternoon temperatures will likely top out in the mid 30s with scattered snow showers possible. Very light accumulations may be possible if a heavier burst of snow can develop. The Hi-Res NAM says light snow showers or flurries may be possible nearly all day!
Just for kicks and giggles, the Hi-Res NAM also produces a light coating of snow across portions of western Kentucky. But bear in mind, temperatures are expected to be above freezing, leading to quick melting.
Snow showers should diminish to the east by Sunday evening, leading to cold conditions for Santa to traverse! Overnight lows will drop back into the low 20s.
Conditions on Christmas Day are expected to be cold as well. Temperatures will likely top out in the mid to upper 30s under partly cloudy skies.
Christmas night temperatures will drop back into the mid 20s.
That should wrap up this forecast. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!
