Wind Advisory in effect until 9 PM
A reminder that the National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the region and is in effect until 9 PM.

Severe Weather Possible Today
There’s also some severe weather potential today as well. The cold front will push through Marshall County in the mid afternoon hours. Temperatures currently around 66° will make a run at 70° by this time.

This will yield rather meager instability values. However, with even stronger winds just off the surface, it won’t take much to get storms rocking and rolling.

As of now, a skinny line of strong to severe thunderstorms will likely form in southeast Missouri and move along the cold front into Kentucky. The line of storms is expected to impact Marshall County between 2 and 4 PM.

As of now, the greatest severe threat is damaging wind. However, an isolated spin-up tornado cannot be ruled out as well. The severe weather outlook from the Paducah National Weather Service office is posted below.

Cold Conditions Expected Behind the Front
Temperatures will take a nosedive after the front moves through. Expect temperatures near 70 by around 2 PM to fall to around 44° by 6 PM. Overnight lows will likely drop all the way to around 32°.

That should wrap up this forecast. Be sure to follow @MarshallCoWX on twitter and Marshall County Weather on Facebook. Have a great day!
