High pressure will settle into the region today. This will lead to far, but chilly conditions as highs will likely top out right around 50°. An occasional northerly wind around 5 mph will be possible.
Partly cloudy skies will lead to lows around 36° tonight.
Friday – Mostly Cloudy – High 60° / Fri Night – Mostly Cloudy & Windy – Low 58°
Mostly cloudy skies are expected Friday ahead of a cold front to the west of the region. Southerly winds around 5 to 10 mph should also raise temperatures to around 60° by late afternoon.
Mostly cloudy skies and windy conditions will keep temperatures mild Friday night. A few showers may even be possible after midnight. Southerly winds will be around 10 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 35 mph possible.
Saturday – Showers & Storms – High 62° / Sat Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 32°
A line of showers and storms are expected to move through the region in the early afternoon hours. Strong winds may accompany the showers as the potent cold front moves through. Temperatures will top out around 62° ahead of the front.
Saturday night will bring partly cloudy skies to the area as lows drop to around freezing.
A few isolated strong to severe storms may be possible Saturday. This is the threat I mentioned several days ago, only models have shifted the timing to later. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the region in a “marginal” risk of severe weather mainly for damaging wind. Think of this as a level 1 out of 5 threat.
No wintry precipitation is expected over the next week.
