Halloween – Partly Cloudy – High 50° / Halloween Night – Mostly Cloudy – Low 40°
Happy Halloween everyone! Partly cloudy skies are currently in place across the region, and you can expect that throughout the day today. Highs will generally warm to around 50° by the afternoon hours.
Overnight, mostly cloudy skies can be expected. This is especially true during trick-or-treat times. However, later in the night showers are expected to move into the region from the south. Lows will drop to around 40°.
Wednesday – Showers Likely – High 60° / Wed Night – Showers Likely – Low 60°↑
Showers will continue into Wednesday. Strong southwest flow in the low level jet will lead to warming conditions throughout the day despite heavy cloud cover and rainfall. Highs will top out right around 60° by later afternoon and early evening.
Strong warm air advection will continue into the overnight hours despite cloudiness and rain. Temperatures will likely rise a few degrees through the night, making overnight lows early in the evening. Temperatures may rise into the mid 60s by Thursday morning!
Thursday – Isolated Showers – High 70° / Thur Night – Showers & Storms – Low 60°
By Thursday morning we’ll be placed in the warm sector of a low pressure system to the north of the region. This means conditions should continue to warm and precipitation should be less abundant. Afternoon highs will reach the low 70s most likely.
By Thursday evening and early overnight, there’s a strong precipitation signal from the models, meaning some thunderstorms may be possible. A southward moving cold front will drive showers and thunderstorms into the region. The severe weather threat is very low as of now, but not zero. Some locally gusty winds may be possible if stronger storms can develop.
Showers will continue overnight. There remains some question about when the cold front will move through. As of now, we’re going to remain conservative on low temperatures and go with lows in the low to mid 60s. Rain totals through Thursday will be between 0.5 – 1″.
