- Cold Front Moves Through Tonight
- Warming Trend Over Coming Days
This Afternoon – Partly Cloudy – High 58°↓ / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 37°
Partly cloudy skies are expected for the remainder of the afternoon thanks to a cold front moving through the region. Fortunately, the cold front is pretty moisture-starved, so no rain is expected from the frontal passage.
Temperatures have already reached a high of 59°. Temperatures should drop throughout the rest of the afternoon and evening as the cold front continues to work on through.
There remain some question marks around the development of clouds overnight. Clouds have a great impact on low temperatures. Right now, we’re expecting partly cloudy skies as lows drop to around 37°. The NAM Model predicts a low of 35° in Paducah.
Halloween – Partly Cloudy – High 50° / Tues Night – Showers Likely – Low 40°
Partly cloudy skies will continue into Halloween. High pressure is expected to move in place briefly ahead of the next weather maker. This will lead to a fair Tuesday as highs top out around 50°.
Showers will spread into the region on Halloween night. This will be in response to a shortwave trough getting absorbed into the base of a longwave trough over the region. This will lead to southerly low to mid level flow and moisture advection. Translation: Rain will be likely Tuesday night as lows drop to around 40°.
Wednesday – Showers Likely – High 55° / Wed Night – Showers Possible – Low 55°↑
We’ll still be under the influence of southwesterly flow on Wednesday. This will lead to warming temperatures despite numerous showers across the region. Afternoon highs will top out in the mid 50s.
A moderately strong low level jet will develop on Wednesday night. This will help advect warm, moist air into the region throughout the overnight hours. Temperatures should steadily rise into the upper 50s to low 60s by Thursday morning. Rain can still be expected before drying out some on Thursday.
That should wrap up this forecast. Be sure to follow @MarshallCoWX for the latest Marshall County weather information. Have a great Monday afternoon!
